It's been a few weeks since our hand-in now, things have been busy and emotional!
Our film team went for an end of year meal at Yo Sushi last week, but we've spent the last couple of weeks of freedom, hanging out and saying our goodbyes. The whole course went to watch the fireworks on Bournemouth beach as our last goodbye which was a great way to end a great year <3 The animation studio is empty now, all the charts and desk toys and decorations removed ..... it feels SO weird that it's all over already! This year has gone incredibly quickly and I'm so sad it's all over! (but excited for the future too!)
So, 2 days after hand-in, part of our marking criteria was to speak through our project with our lecturers in a presentation. In this we told them what we thought went well, thought went wrong, liked, disliked, could've spent more time on etc (essentially a self-critique) so they knew what issues the film had were due to time management or error and which were intentional. They'd then give us their feedback on what they thought could've been improved and which parts we were correct needed improvement or what they felt we were being too harsh on ourselves for.
This went pretty well and we finally got our results for the project/masters today!
Our final film project got 82% overall, which is amazing and we're all completely chuffed about! Everyone from our group passed the course too, so onwards to graduation and the degree show!
The 82% on the Masters Project (which accounts for 1/3rd of our overall mark brought my overall Masters mark out as 76% resulting in a Distinction which I'm incredibly happy with! If I'm being honest, I went into the masters with so much self doubt that I wasn't even sure I'd be able to achieve a pass, let alone a distinction! This year has definitely pushed me, it's been stressful but amazing. I've learned so much and met so many lovely people!
I move back home in just over a week so I'm going to be packing and spending the last week making the most of the local area. I'm hoping to get a temporary job back home in order to pay for travel expenses for interviews etc (because getting anywhere from Cornwall is costly and there's little to no jobs down here in animation unfortunately) I'll be keeping myself busy until the Grad show at the end of this month and Graduation at the beginning of November which I'm sure I'll post about!
Farewell BU, thanks for all the amazing memories! <3
